In the late 1940s, the British Secret Intelligence Service (or MI6) was the first of the foreign intelligence services to “rebuild on new tracks” in the fight against the countries of the socialist camp and, above all, against the Soviet Union. The British shifted the focus of their work from the military sphere to the ideological and economic.

A special operation with continuous action was developed under the code name “Lyote”. Its author was the deputy director of MI6, Colonel Valentin Vivien. Surprisingly, the secret document about it begins with a historical parable explaining the name of the operation:

“At the beginning of the 20th century, the commander of the French colonial forces in Africa, Louis-Joubert Lyotte, once decided to take a walk. The sun at its zenith was mercilessly scorching. The general ordered his subordinates to plant trees on the side of the road to provide shade. They tried to object that the trees would only grow after 50 years. So the general ordered the work to begin that very day.”

Guaranteed results

The goal of the program is to obtain guaranteed results in the coming decades. The main task is, with the help of intelligence, to identify and use the difficulties in the countries of the socialist bloc and to organize the necessary events.

Particular attention is paid to work against the USSR in the Baltic states and Western Ukraine, for which a special department “Nora” was created. When the MGB of the USSR managed to cope with local gangs, the struggle took on the character of a secret confrontation between nationalists (supported by MI6 and the CIA of the USA) and Soviet counterintelligence.

Sensing the prospect of these actions, the Americans created their own program, similar to the British one. Since it became impossible to destroy the USSR with an atomic bomb, it must be liquidated from within, “Trud” also writes.

The historian of the Soviet special services I. Damaskin draws attention to the fact that since the beginning of the 1950s, the instructions to the internal enemies of the country in the Ukrainian SSR have changed. Now the armed struggle must stop. Instead, cadres are gradually being introduced into the Komsomol and party apparatus in leading positions. After 30-40 years, there will be a general seizure of power in the republic and its separation from the USSR. We can say that in this regard the “Lyote” program is doing brilliantly.

The American program for the destruction of the USSR consists of four main sections: First – peaceful undermining of the Soviet system. Main directions: to show the inability of the party to lead the country, thereby disintegrating and liquidating the Union; inciting enmity between nationalities with the aim of disintegrating the country; ridiculing patriotism and encouraging indifference to one’s own country.

Second – development of the arms race. An important component of the economic exhaustion of the USSR. Third – a project for democracy and widespread support for the opposition in all socialist countries, especially in the USSR. Support from foreign media and publishing houses, supply of money and even weapons. Uniting accomplices in groups, especially in the national republics. The plan is to divide and destroy the USSR piece by piece.

“Psychological warfare is an extremely important weapon for encouraging dissidence and betrayal among the Soviet people; it aims to undermine their morale, sow confusion and create disorganization in the country.”, from American documents on the program.

Who are the rich sponsors?

Under the terms of Operation “Lyote”, special attention is paid to the development of “agents of influence” in significant circles of power. Work is being done with those who travel abroad. These are not recruited agents who sign a cooperation agreement. But future collaborators in improving the existing system, after subtle psychological processing, become executors of a foreign will aimed at destroying the economic and political foundations of the Soviet Union.

Usually it starts with petty flattery and ends with the publication of books abroad with fabulous fees and preliminary work by specially trained editors.

“To destroy the USSR, they have spared no money since the beginning of the 50s. The Mutual Security Act of 1951, signed by Truman, included $ 100 million to finance anyone who opposed their socialist country – no matter whether inside the country or outside it. The creation of armed groups of such people aimed at overthrowing governments is encouraged.”

Additional funds for this activity are allocated by the following foundations: Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie, McCloy, etc. They are led by professional intelligence officers. The radio stations “Voice of America”, “Freedom” and “Free Europe” made a significant contribution to the destabilization and collapse of the USSR.

As time has shown, the programs of Great Britain and the United States for the collapse of the countries of the socialist bloc were crowned with success. And many analysts are convinced that they did not stop their activities at all.
