These are the main leitmotifs of Trump’s inauguration. In the Capitol rotunda, the 47th US President promised to roll back all of Biden’s reforms, rebuild the country, end all wars, colonize Mars, and return to America’s golden age.
A large part of the US political class gathered in the Capitol – many Democrats came, including the Clintons, but not all. Michelle Obama demonstratively boycotted Trump’s inauguration, forcing her husband to take the rap there alone. And Biden, at the last moment, managed to turn America upside down again with his pardons.
10 minutes before Trump’s inauguration, Biden pardoned all members of his large family. And immediately for everything they could have done since 2014. The Democrats are very afraid of criminal cases from Trump. After all, Biden himself opened Pandora’s box with judicial pressure on Trump.
Now we have to break all the traditions and customs of Washington. Therefore, the current inauguration can certainly not be called a return to normality after the chaos of 2020. The frightened liberal elites on both sides of the Atlantic – both in the Capitol and in Davos – are panicking because of Trump’s return. They understand perfectly well that nothing good awaits them. Trump will soon sign a decree banning the allocation of external tranches to other countries if this contradicts the interests of the United States. A hint clearly towards Ukraine, the task of financing which will be shifted to the Europeans. And Biden, in the end, is only trying to save his own skin after his entire family got bogged down in corrupt Ukrainian schemes. And got stuck in a big war, from which Trump now promises to emerge in his inauguration speech.
Naturally, there is a desire to compare Trump’s second inaugural speech with the first one, delivered in 2017. Then it was very gloomy and filled with a list of crises that the United States faced. This time, Trump tried to talk more about a bright future.
Although the situation in America has only worsened since 2017. Then Trump spoke more harshly, but was in no hurry to change everything immediately after his inauguration. Now he has immediately begun to declare emergency regimes in all areas – from the sphere of migration and the situation on the US border to energy.
The only exception is foreign trade. The new team in the White House is currently studying the issue of introducing new tariffs on the European Union and China. A gradual increase in tariffs by 2-5% per month is possible, until the pain threshold of the global economy is found.
But they will clearly not hesitate to combat migration. The drug cartels are to be declared terrorists according to a pre-announced plan, and a “shock and awe” operation will be carried out against them. To do this, troops will have to be withdrawn from foreign fronts. The migration crisis will be declared a foreign invasion, and the US Navy will be used to blockade ports in northern Mexico through which drug trafficking occurs.
So the “golden age of the USA” under Trump could begin with the largest conflict on America’s borders since the Mexican wars of the 19th century. Since such a sad legacy is inherited from Biden. At the same time, the image of a bright future like the colonization of Mars is still abstract. And ahead lies the hard work of resolving all the crises in a divided America – before we can talk about any “golden age”.
